All done! It went pretty fast. Really need to be awake for knitting lace, though. In the world of lace this is like a beginner’s pattern and yet I rarely went through a row without any errors. Now she’s all ready for her brother’s wedding!

I’m making a shrug for Katie to wear to Nate’s wedding. The lace pattern is “English Lace” from “A Gathering Of Lace”. The yarn is Idena Bamboo. The needles are size 8 US. The design is mine:Two 9″ sleeves connected by a 12″x12″ square.
As you can see, it is starting to look like a shrug. I still have to add another 4″ to go on that sleeve and then it’s on to the other sleeve. After that I will add a 2×2 rib all the way around the neck/front opening/bottom edge.

Here’s my first attempt at a blanket – it’s that easy one with garter stitch, stitched diagonally. I used 2 strands of yarn and the hat is a simple garter stitch pattern also. Again, this is my virgin voyage into the world of baby stuff. Lucky, my good friends, Beth and Matt Bromley (expecting their first baby) are tolerating the labors of my cramped hands. Their little boy is due in August!! – Beth promises he’ll wear the hat for his first snow trip (she’s originally from eastern Canada). How I do ramble on and amazingly I can still type, crippled, gnarled hands, et al.

time to put away those wintry scarves a’plenty and whip out baby projects, which in my humble estimation, is far more rewarding than, let’s say, older children (not unlike my own) projects. Please make sure bare feet are featured on babies modeling said projects.
